A few people inquired about purchasing prints of the images on my site. The answer is yes. Just email me. I haven't set up an online store yet. Sorry for the inconvenience of it all.

Also, I want to start a poll...
considering that I am not a traditional photographer, and my images tend to lean towards an abstract slant, should I shoot weddings? I have had a couple requests. My answer has usually been "no", but I think if people want something different and not traditional in any way, I should consider it, right?

Hello...Illinois journalist here, your photos (esp. the Graceland Cemetery shots) are very evocative. They bring to mind earlier days of living in the city. Nicely done! I might be interested in obtaining photos, and I think that you could definitely do weddings, particularly for couples for whom something a little outside the box appeals.

Thanks. I love that cemetary. My wife forced me (practically kicking and screaming) one day to go with a friend of ours. I'm glad I went. It was a perfectly gloomy day. I got a TON of photos from that place. I've been meaning to go back.
What type of journalist are you, freelance, newspaper, tv?

Print/freelance. I'm currently editor of a couple of small community papers outside the city, but haven't lost my appreciation for all things Chicago. Prob. one reason I like your shots!

I lived pretty near that cemetery a few years back. Good call on your wife's part!

Cool. I'll let her know you think so. By the way, she'd kill for your job. Any openings?

Also, if you're interested in getting some photos done, you can email me through the site. ben@gopho.com Just let me know what you'd like.

I'm looking to get into photojournalism as well. I wonder if your paper might take some submissions.

Heh, well, she might like my job, but I bet she'd hate the pay...as well as living out in the boonies (though I like it).

It's a fun job, though.

We totally take submissions...just not paid. :(

Oh, for sure! I'll friend you back!

One can never have to many Chicago friends...much as I love the country (it's where my roots are), I do miss the city and the more broadminded people.

It's a tad conservative out here, as you might imagine. Still, it's home.

haha, I didn't even notice. What does that say about me?

Cool. And yes, broadmindedness, more than anything keeps me here, in this urban locale.

It was hard to leave in that regard...but, sigh...I have so many homes. Are you north side, then? I loved it there. Rogers Park, and then Edgewater.
